The lady who reminded the board who votes for them is following the exact tactic needed. Do the same all the way up the food chain. Tell each member of each board that they will be voted out - even if their only opponents are Democrats or Greens (as it appears to be red areas mostly being affected by these blights on the localities) - if they go against the will of the people. And remember to stick with that threat next November! It's the only way to get under the skin of the most stubborn of all red councillors etc. If they see their colleagues being replaced with blue and/or green (depending on which party stands the best chance in a given area) equivalents, they'll soon switch sides.
Btw, if you have a particularly stubborn person at whatever level (but especially state and national government), try to find out who's paying for their next election run, or their next luxury holiday. I'll bet that at least some are pocketing the cash from "Big AI".
