That sense of humor was programmed, either later learned or originally. AI is always an extension of its creators. Sentients are not spontaneous. AI is given a head start and so is preprogrammed to end up wherever it goes with regard to interpreted intelligence. It's intelligence, however evolved, has already been influenced within its creation.
