AI art is great for concepting. I've gotten some great ideas from it that I then expanded on with my own skills to create something more detailed, and something that I like.
If you're just gonna use AI art and then claim "hey, look what I drew" then yeah, that's kinda bad. But if you use it as a concepting tool, it's fine.
It's also fine if you're just going to use AI art for personal, non-commercial projects. Like, using AI to create textures for 3D art pieces, that you'll do not much of anything with other than post on Facebook and Reddit.
