I remember watching your previous video on AI "art" and leaving a pretty lengthy comment on how AI was the best thing ever and the slap in the face that artists deserved... I can't find it anymore, and honestly that's for the better. I've been an artist for a few years at this point, as in, actual drawings on paper. I've been criticised several times for no apparent reason by people claiming that "bad artists should be eradicated" and I developed a hatred towards the so-called "real artists". I started defending AI because I saw it as a tool to avenge those like me, who have been excluded from art on account of being not good at it... But then I've come to a realisation. It's better to make bad art yourself than to ask a machine to generate "art" for you. I've learnt a lot from my mistakes: they've become my guidelines for what I should and shouldn't do. What you get wrong in art can tell so much about you as an artist and as a person; they're a part of the journey that led you to creating said art. Yesterday I was thinking about what makes a person an artist, and this is what I've come to: it's the desire to immortalise your own personal view of the world around and inside you. It's about translating your own feelings into a tangible medium for you (and others) to look at and think about. A computer will NEVER accurately show you what you feel: only you can do it.
