The only disagreement I have with this person's evaluation, is that the imperial connection is not a metaphor.
It is the new imperial order and methods.
It is not like empire.
It IS empire.
All hierarchy is empire, to one degree or another, but AI, and in general, capitalist companies are seeking totalizing control of world economies and labor.
They want poor people to starve.
