I think what a lot of humans still don’t understand is that more comfort and more ease doesn’t equal with more happiness and satisfaction. In fact from own experience it’s quiet the opposite. Occasional struggles make us human. We get stronger, we learn and we generally feel good when we overcome them. Also we value times of ease much more.
A world with no struggle and pain is a dystopian world where people will only feel more purposeless, more depressed, more loneliness and more anxious. Not having to put effort for your comfort and luxury makes you suffer in the long run. Maybe not physically but definitely mentally and I know this sounds like a paradox. More healthcare in such times will not fix the issues.
So, either we are heading into a future where we get even more mindless and numb to our own emotions and sense of self or we will suffer from endless feelings of purposeless, depression, fear, anxiety and much more. This is not a question of if ….
People are blinded by the utility and ease AI brings us but completely ignore the trade off - being human, with flaws, errors and discomfort to feel happiness, joy and ease.
