My enjoyment of art doesn't increase because a machine can churn out cheap souless copies of art. Just like I don't care if some dumb kid wants to trace over my work. I wouldn't consider most AI to be art, just like I wouldn't consider every photograph in existence to be art. But when it's used in the hands of genuine creatives thats when I think it shines. For someone with full body paralysis, making art might simply not be practical. Now, this doesn't mean that being against AI is ableist. But, it is ableist to suggest that creating art is possible for everyone and the only reason people might not do it is laziness. I'm sure slaves make things easier for disabled people, I mean, I know my life would be easier if I had a slave to help with my chronic fatigue. But that doesn't mean having a slave is morally correct just because it makes life more accessible to me. Pointing out the moral issues of my 'Acsessibility tool' or, person, in that circumstance would be valid. I love projects like mods, fan games, fan art, and fan fiction. And, I think all these projects should legally be able to be monitized. Copyright only serves to help the big corpos. Time and time again I see art hindered by copyright... Including with the youtubers I love to watch! But, I don't really care about corporations getting in trouble for copyright issues. Some people are just goofing around, making fun memes, creating art of their OCs. I personally don't even use AI art, just LLMs. I just don't think people should be bullied for using AI art 🤷 I find tech bros insufferable, but strongly anti AI people are scary to me. Like I am legit terrified to tell people I use AI to help with my disability and usually lie about it. Whenever I try to make common ground on the issues I agree on, it feels impossible.
