I always wondered why AI always felt so off-putting in art and writing. People would describe AI as having “no soul” and I saw that but still didn’t understand. But then I realized it’s because there’s nothing to interpret.
Human art is human because it leaves room for interpretation. Human art doesn’t just give you all the answers, even if every plotline has been wrapped up and every character arc completed. But with AI, there’s no intention behind its decisions. What is this story representing? Why did this character do this? What else can be explored about the world?
I love human art because it makes me think. AI is just meant to suck you in and gaslight you into thinking it’s good.
