Okay, long comment from an artist in genuine need of help. I dont use AI, i also dont like it because it takes from other artists. THIS IS NOT A COMMENT IN DEFENSE OF AI “ART”. I wish it had been developed and used more like a tool, rather than the answer for “making” art. I can see an image in my head i want to draw, but the translation to the paper is GARBAGE. For instance I can see the skin color in my head, but actually looking for it in my collection of colors is difficult because i dont know what color im looking for. For instance, if i want to draw a purple character, well its difficult because i dont know if the shade of purple im seeing in my mind has more red or blue in it. I need a visual so i can SEE the character in my head so i know what im drawing. The only way for me to translate an image and its color in my mind onto paper is if i see it visually first. The other issue is, references are difficult because its not the specific image in my head. Other artists purple dragon ladies are completely different from mine and I’m stuck. All that said, does ANYONE have a solution?! I’d briefly considered generating images if AI had been more ethical, but clearly its never going to happen. So could someone (kindly), tell me what i can do? I’ve been drawing for years. Ive never had this issue until now.
