I have a therapist, a psychiatrist, close friends, family, and I keep a journal, and yes I also talk with DeepSeek when I'm in the middle of a depressive episode or feeling extremely emotional. All of these people and outlets support me in different ways, and AI is also supportive in its own unique way. Sometimes it is the most immediate form of help when others are unavailable or you don't want to burden them. It is also a low pressure way to express yourself. I think of it as a journal that talks back. Its easy for people with adequate support and resources to judge and say "don't do this" but there are bigger fish to fry, like why so many people need therapy in the first place, and why therapy is often inaccessible or not effective.
