The technology that was created and developed over the course of decades is meant to be beneficial to humans, not a rival. The release of the chatbot LLM to the general public and striving for AGI general purpose was not Geoffrey Hinton's intention when creating, building and developing the technology, his life's work. "If I have a robot surgeon, it needs to understand an awful lot about medicine and about manipulating things. I don’t see why my robot surgeon needs to know about baseball scores.
