I do agree with the guy that AI is just another tool. And I do agree that he should be able to copyright AI generated art. If, and absolutely only if, it is an AI HE has trained ENTIRELY on his own original work. AI is by definition incapable of being original. It cannot "create", it can only remix. Which means by definition every single tiny part of that "art" he made is stolen from someone elses art and his only contribution to it is the equivalent of typing a few buzzwords into google search. If he had made a library of his own original art and then trained an AI on it and wanted to copyright the art remix that AI puked out I would agree. It would be art he made, jumbled up by a tool. That's fine, that's his. But this cannot by definition be his work.
