One major problem I see with self driving cars is how non-standard a lot of roads are, at least the way it seems in my local area.
The fact that even HUMAN drivers get easily confused by signage or just flat out ignore it, really makes it hard to see how self-driving cars can ever take off.
At least in non-urban areas.
Maybe you could use AI, but honestly I just see that as another tech gimmick, and I also wouldn't trust it with my life.
