idk the arguments aren't convincing. at 6:46 you give the AI a prompt to copy something and then you are surprised that it tried to copy something. If i ask a human to copy a movie frame, would you have the same issue? same with the Star Wars example just before that time stamp. you compare fire fly, which is an original work inspired by star wars to an AI prompt literally asking for Star Wars. Expecting something different than Star Wars when you prompt the AI to copy Star Wars is weird to me. Legally speaking its not copyright infringement, because the AI images are created from scratch and they don't have a copyright holder anyways. maybe there will be laws in the future, but currently it's not illegal. Is it morally okay? I'm not sure. The fact that you can't see the original artists behind the art style of AI generation is a really good argument, cause I do want to see more and high-quality. Human art is obviously way higher quality. AI is accessible: it is, or do you not value your time at all? you have a smart phone anyways, its not like you get one only for AI, so even the cost argument is flawed. comparing NFT to AI art is also weird, cause NFT isn't a product in my eyes, while the art is. art has more usecases than NFT. I don't see that parallels. to Tesla either, self driving has nothing to do with generative AI. Apart from that, we know how incompetent Elon Musk is, I wouldn't trust anything he says. AI ist not an art medium: I think it is. the writer of the prompt has a vision and wants to express that vision. using AI makes that possible. so how is it not an art medium? currently the arugment against AI art are for me: impact on environment; lower quality; morality? arguments for AI art: fast, cheap, easy and it's usually "accurate enough" it all depends what your goal is. to sum up my thoughts on this: AI art is real art in my opinion. It's low quality and easy access right now (this might change in the future idk). Human art is higher-quality and my preferred medium. AI lacks uniqueness, which i value highly, but if you are not looking for accuracy or something special, just got for AI. AI is usually "good enough". The creation process is more fun if you draw it yourself. and finally: everything depends on what your goal is.
