Honestly as an indie developer I love the AI art and tools...like it helps so much specially during prototyping and testing phases...not everyone has the time or money to get designers to specially design a niche for their product not every product is for commercial use...I have left so many projects unfinished coz how much it cost to get some art work to use on your websites and stuff...and I don't think its a step against mainstream artists a digital art is at the end a digital art...you can print it at most or have it in your computer but its different with real art...you can feel the texture and smell the scent of paint on a real painting...you can have a hand carved sculpture and feel the texture...it just reminds you of the hardwork an artist put into it...and I don't say artists won't suffer but at least they can work on things they like and not worry too much about demand from their clients...just make them different categories...you make money by using the digital art and spend it on buying the real art and then turn that real art into digital art and make more money off of it and the cycle continues...don't hinder progress by narrow mindedness...
