I really like the point you made about intentional strokes but I think AI art could have human intention behind it, just in a different way.
Disclaimer, I am more of a hobby artist or occasional doodler not a professional. The reason i wanted to improve my art is to share the ideas i already have in my head. I thought generative AI could be a good way for me, as having no art skills, to do so. While the strokes of an AI generated image aren't intentional, could the idea from what the image represents be?
The only thing i've used it for is to create placeholders for my OC's lol but I don't know how to get the AI to do what i want and the process is so incredibly time consuming and tedious. For this reason i don't entirely discount people saying that making AI "art" is a skill. I do feel some people might be better at getting the AI to make exactly what they want than I am. Although i don't know if that's the AI jockey's communication skills or a limitation on the part of the AI XD
