The solution Mr Hinton seeks is in women's minds. It's not too late to get his failsafes in place, but men mostly aren't wired for safety issues, as he's found out. Women are a different breed. He needs to have lunches with the few women who are Chief AI scientists and maybe a couple who are on their way there. At the very least, he'll get a seat belt for this fast-moving car we all love but threatens to crush our bones.
