Here is my rant, 23 Years 2.5 million miles and here is the trouble...Company owns trucks and all expenses, Federal regulates said company, Dot controls regulations, Driver listens to company and gets shut down ticketed and so on, Driver listens to federal motor carrier laws and company dont want driver, which causes forced actions by company which gets people killed and driver pushed out. Driver listens to DOT and it cost company money again causing company not wanting said driver. The cycle is vicous, So recruiters lie to driver and driver gets in seat to find out safety is all a lie. Driver is stuck in the middle as to who does he listen to. In the end its placed on said driver. So driver chooses to make choice that makes himself safe and others around to protect said liscence and company again loses money and gets rid of driver, Causing fights and bad reports on DAC. Regulations are good but the problem is not with shortage but with the misunderstanding of the cost and expence to operate a trucking company and the regulations. There is no middle ground. Then like me im disabled now with back trouble after 23 years and willing to drive truck but companies lie and say no toiuch frieght yet when i apply, and taken to orientaion and hand in my doctor accomodations im sent home. Or even told in email that saftey needs me to have a clear health which discriminates against me, If its no touch then let me friggen drive for god sakes. But should i turn this over to eeoc they do nothing instead turns it over to me locating an attorney. You see the problem is not shortage. The problem is a slooe of many issues. 23 years safe and cant even get a job any more. So automatic trucks like this is not where the focus should be at all. We dont have a shortage but a problem with who owns the trucks and who regulates and who enforces Thats my rant Fix this first people TY
