I'm incredibly relieved that I'm 1. retired, 2. have a sufficiently large financial portfolio for all eventualities, and 3. am old enough to calmly accept this misery. That means the younger generation now needs to get off their backsides and do something about it.
The USA has the best prerequisites to successfully combat the uncontrolled application of AI: 1. the oldest democracy in the world, 2. almost all AI companies are based in the USA, and 3. there's a system of national armed forces in case democracy fails.
