If AI is increasing productivity, then we should shorten the work week. That would be the best start. Instead of laying people off all the time, these companies should just reduce working hours. Doing so would significantly improve mental health. People are stressed working 40 plus hours a week while trying to maintain their home, clean, cook and take care of kids etc.
