The pricing from these sites are predatory, and the creation of these tools were unethical.
If both of these factors were addressed in some meaningful way, I feel like most artists would embrace the tools. I think when people see artists get emotional and upset, they think that it comes from an unfounded place.

*Here are my current fears:*
1.) People will be able to impersonate other artists, without a way to verify (as a.i artifacts disappear).
2.) Art thieves, or people who steal/clout being an artist for attention, just gained a new powerful tool.
3.) There will be people who claim making A.I art is a 1:1 to other forms of art, and take the credit on behalf of the A.I.
4.) People who create illustrations will be drowned out by A.I images on social media that benefit from algorithms
5.) People who enjoy creating illustrations/character designs will have a harder time growing online.
6.) These companies will never be held liable for the unethical/predatory practices they're going under
7.) Artists futures are being handled by people who aren't so much artists, and aren't listening to artists.

*Here are some fears, that I think are invalid/untrue:*
1.) Digital art is dead - Traditional art still exists to this day in spite of digital art. If anything digital artists skills will be even more vital, but will become more niche.
2.) Jobs will be lost - Automation creates more niche and specific jobs. There will be less of them, but they will be more irreplaceable and require more skill and pay more.
3.) Creativity is dead - If anything creativity is required more then ever. People who make something with their art (games, comics, interactive media) will thrive, as these A.I's for right now are pretty one trick ponies. It's just a tool.
4.) People will stop supporting artists - I might see A.I art in my feed but as soon as I learn it was generated, unless it's significantly transformative, I'm going to scroll on pretty quickly. Most people like art for the human experience. That will still be the case moving forward. People will want humans to create for them, even if that group is smaller, apparently especially people asking for nsfw art.
5.) Music and Writing are next - as writing advances, education will crack down and lobby for regulation. The music industry already lobbied and regulated music to be where artists right now want a.i art to be at. Writing follows cliches and requires a lot of effort to make work, and music is an inherently more personalized (as in most humans recognize those behind music projects far more than art) as well as the aspect of mixing, mastering, and other things an A.I is no where near close at understanding.
6.) Concept Artists, illustrators, photographers and graphic artists are done for - there will be people who want the pipeline to be authentic. They could hire someone to generate ideas, but unless it begins to learn how to animate, scale, and much more, it's effectively just a toy. Also, there will always be projects that want to have the ability to say they used real artists. 2d animation isn't gone. clay animation isn't gone. If anything due to the internet, all of those areas are thriving in their own way.
7.) People will stop wanting to learn art - Yea it might be easy and quick to generate art you like, but if you want to make that transformative, you're going to have to learn about the fundamentals or have a desire to engage in art on a deeper level. There will also be tons of artists who just wanna do it the vibier way (of making it themselves). There are still artists who use inks and watercolor for comics. There are still artists who paint on a canvas. There will still be artists who use procreate and clip studio. It's fun to know how to art yourself. It's fun to know how to paint, create character designs, animate. A.I will just make us appreciate the human qualities more.
8.) A.I art will be indistinguishable from real art - even if that happens, we will always be inspired by the human experience. Seeing a really cool watercolor painting will inspire and awe us even if it doesn't look as good as an A.I's artwork. If I hear a song I love, and found out the artist had a ghost writer, I get a little upset. When I find out the artist barely put their own thought into the artwork, I get bored, and move on. I imagine even if we are fooled into looking at A.I generated art, once we find out that's all it is. We will move on pretty quickly. If A.I art is transformative, then maybe i'd stick around and give a follow, but other then that it's just commercial wall art imo.
