The thing people miss when it comes to AI and art in general is that art is sometimes a product. It's primary use is connection with other people. Being vunerable to peoples judgement and opinions. By creating art you firstly connect with yourself as a being, then with others. Art can be a product but you will find out that any artist who wants to find moderate success must sacrifice quite a lot of things to reach it. From doing work they don't like for others to pushing themselves so much it becomes self exploitation, damaging their bodies in short and long term along with their sanity. It's not the worst thing in the world and i don't want to mislead people and present it as such, however lesser pain is by no means is non existant pain. Most masterpieces in the artworld are works that the artists hated and were forced to create for monetary gain. At the same time modern society has romanticized that art can be free without monetary gain or fame gain in mind, something that is a daydream more than anything grounded in reality. What I am trying to say is that art can be made for money however its role in connecting people is unaltered, that's what AI is missing. It's like how food connects people but now imagine if nobody was making the food at all, cause takeout is still people making the food for you with their own hands, skills and experience.
