There is actually a really good reason why we need to treat AI bots as if they're deranged psychopathic predators, in need of a painful death eating so much ammonium nitrate, their operators will die in subsequent fires. These bots are being used to replace simple IVR or low paid human scum, in robocall scams. They're also being used to market misrepresented products and manipulate target victims. As such, there's a paradox present, where Hannah's suggestions may be valid in other cases, but where as a whole (and before considering global warming or energy price tampering), we need to break models where bots are force multipliers to people and organizations that have what is, or needs modernization of laws to become, criminal activities overdue to shut down. If bots called your grandmother pretending to be helpful humans, while trying to defraud her, are we better off if she reacts and tells them where to go and slams down the phone, or if she gives them access to her life savings? Helpful bots honestly operated within valid rule sets, like those used for complex PCB trace layouts, operate in closed environments and so can be prevented from use by sick scammers, whether at Meta or in Gujarati.
