Take a photography of a mountain and put it side by side with hyperrealistic pencil drawing of that mountain. The photography is objectively more superior, it's in color, it's the perfect representation of it. So why would someone probably just pass by that photo, but get the "wow" feeling when seeing the hyperrealistic pencil drawing of it?
That's the difference betwen AI generated slop and man-made art. If quality was the only important factor, white empty sheet of paper would be a masterpiece. Instead it's intent, effort, interpretation that make art. It doesn't need even a medium, someone doing seemingly mundane work can be called art if it's done with certain grasping fluidity and skill.
AI generated images are not art, they're products. Nothing more.
