I think option 3 is the most likely here. Generative AI isn't going anywhere, producing pictures, text and sound off of vague inputs and translating from unstructured to at least semi-structured data are all useful things which work way better these days than with previous techniques.
I don't believe we're about to see the GAI uprising and I'm not sold enough on current robotics to believe that human labour is replaceable at this time, so I think the most likely outcome is that a lot of investor money will go poof and investees who are smart enough to exit in time will have a long life filled with infinite money and lawsuits ahead of them.
Thing is, given all of that, I don't think the entire tech industry is going to go broke over this so even though I'm expecting losses, I don't think that it's a good idea to pull out investment out of tech. The floor is probably considerably higher than bankruptcy, and the ceiling is we're all stupid and they are actually going to be the 10 companies that rule the entire universe.
