I understand you are defending your profession, but I disagree. No one creates anything from thin air. Take music - a lot of music sounds the same. We say “hey this band sounds like this band” and so on. We only can create something that is based on what we have seen or heard. One e in a while there are geniuses born that create something mind blowing and new, it that is extremely rare.most likely you inspire yourself by looking at other artists work. Similarly, AI looking at your work to train its DB is no different then I looking at your work to teach myself. And it is far from copyright violation unless it copies your work and presents as its own. Music industry has its AI generated music, very good one at that. Check out Dennis Martensson. He fed his algorithm songs by bands like Periphery, Dream Theater and so on, and it generates hours and hours of amazing Djent music that I listen to a lot, like it is a real band. It is unique music, it is similar in style to these bands, but so are a lot of people coating real bands coz they are too inspired by these bands. Is that copyright violation as well? What don’t thinks so. AI threatening my profession - programming. It can already make a full iOS app and website. Not as advanced to be fair, but it is just a matter of (short) time till that changes. Technology evolve, we need to adapt. When digital art tools appeared, it allowed millions of people to become artists. Now instead of real paint and paintings, we got millions of digital mages floating around and artists that make real paintings probably felt the same as you do now - they did not have means of drawing perfect line of circle by just tapping “make a perfect circle” button or have access to literally millions of colors and effects. You have to recognize that. Instead, let’s embrace new tech and find new ways, adapt to it, and evolve with it.
