AI is a tool. Every tool ever invented was a replacement for human work. This tool will eventually replace all human work. AI will be the end of the Working Class, The Middle Class, the Upper Middle Class and the poor. It's not going to lift us all up. It's going to make us redundant liabilities. Even if everything goes perfectly and the AI never has hostile intent, this is the end of the world as we know it. Most of us are not invited to the party. The elite are going to attain god like status. The rest of us will be culled. It's all over but the shouting.
