When you say about subliminal things getting into your works that's for sure true. But that's also true for AI. I mean, if it's trained on someone else's work it will get trained on subliminal things that got into those works, and those things might in future influence some of the generated stuff too. The critical thing here is viewer. Viewer doesn't know you and it's rarely critical for viewer whose subliminal things are the source of certain detail in the end result. Also have you ever been an art director? I think pure AI prompting should be compared to that rather than actually drawing. I think currently there are not many AI tools that are usable by real artists in their process, but I expect tools like this to come and get integrated into software (CSP, Illustrator, etc), so that you can actually ask it to automate certain grindy step of your process rather than ask it for the end result. Also you will be able to select region of your image, or layer, or multiple layers and ask it to do stuff with those. Similar things already exist for programmers (Github Copilot) and are working very well and you can use them at different scale (from doing a certain very little thing inside your existing project, to writing the whole project from start to end).
