I acknowledge that David Deutsch is smarter than me, but from the perspective of my lowly station, it certainly seems that AI is already better than most of us at many, many, many intellectual tasks. I'm ready to admit that AI is smarter than me, in general. And I'm not a dummy. It's just that when I'm working with LLMs and they develop new engineering problems that I've never thought of, and then solve those problems in 10-20 seconds ... well, that's pretty solid proof that LLMs are out of my league.
