I feel like this video completely missed one important economic metric.
Companies need customers to pay for products/services - if there's mass in employment then no-one can buy products/services. Without customers companies collapse with no income - regardless of how efficiently AI is making their productivity.
Capitalism relies on the flow of capital - if most people can't afford to buy stuff, then a capitalist economy collapses.
Suggesting ordinary people have no power because they have no value in an AI economy ignores the fact that companies need customers.
UBI can't be dismissed in the way it is in this video - think of the pandemic, governments literally gave citizens money - to keep the economy afloat.. To maintain the flow of capital. UBI might actually be an essential element of maintaining the carcass of failed capitalist economics.
