I think one problem is that when you complain to someone that your boss is an asshole, that person might say something like, "Oh, maybe he was stressed and didn't mean it." That may be true, but it doesn't help. ChatGPT will definitely say, "Oh, I'm sorry. It was definitely not appropriate to say that to you." So yes. Maybe we're losing the ability to have empathetic conversations with each other that are just comforting, and that's why we're turning to a machine that is definitely comforting and responds in a way that we want to hear.
