As soon as AI replaces 90% of workers, a politician will appear who will offer to tax the AI companies so much that every laid off worker will be paid a Univeral Basic Income to cover all their needs.
His main concern is that people's dignity is tied into their jobs. I think if everyone can go on the Internet or be in virtual worlds, that concern will go away pretty quickly, since all our needs will be met.
