I'd like to just clarify that some top-scoring students DO use AI but not in a way to eradicate their own thinking or need to put effort into their work. I personally only use AI to find resources quickly, clarify my ideas, ask questions, and really treat the AI as if it were a tutor. I am not reliant on ChatGPT to do my academic work, but I use it as a tool. Some people don't and it's important I think to consider how the statistics can undermine people like me.
