The children who did online learning suffered tremendously. The students went back to school and their behaviors were far worse than could be imagined. They could not concentrate. They could and would not listen to their teachers. The students have become more aggressive and combative, constantly at odds with each other and teaching staff. Far too many of them have difficulty learning. Oh my God! I cannot believe that I heard you correctly in this podcast. Only someone who has no idea of what goes on day-to-day within the schools could say something so idiotic. One of my kindergarten students informed me last Fall that I was her Mother. I said, "no, I am not your Mother." She said, "well, you are the Mother of the classroom. So therefore, you are my/our Mother." That 5 year old has more sense than what you stated in this clip. Teachers are mothers, nurses, counselors, custodians, referees, intermediaries, back-up bus drivers, and sometimes punching bags. The increase in negative behaviors and also of ASD and ADHD in children has skyrocketed. Give the children more screens, AI, and wifi and you will have a non-functiong future. There are too many factors to name, but to do as you are suggesting would be sealing the fate of an entire generation. Only someone who is not there, in the classroom, from day-to-day, trying to teach but constantly being interrupted by all of the behaviors that have to be managed would say something so ignorant.
