There’s probably a beneficial role for facial recognition but only as suggestion of who a suspect might be and should never be used solely to interfere in someone’s life in public and especially in front of their family. It needs to be a crime for police to do that. People are supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty but the opposite is usually the case.
