You have summarized the arguments put forward by AI-bro’s to defend AI very well and presented excellent counterarguments.
Venture capitalists (and government-backed) tech companies first introduced this technology through GenAI image and music generators and "chatty" LLM chatbots to attract and dazzle the public. And almost for free!
These tools give people the illusion of creating something without any real effort. That's enough to captivate and enchant people and the sectors focused on cost reduction and rapid production (such as business, advertising, and marketing).
Technological advancement is inevitable. But this technology, which is being forced into our lives as AI, is a technology that exploits every subject, every concept, everything that is human, reducing it to mere data in order to develop. This exploitation is multidimensional, both physical, conceptual, and cognitive. That is the main problem with GenAI which AI-bro’s fail to see.
I don't know where this technology is headed, but the damage it is already causing is immense. Moreover, the technology presented to the masses as AI isn't even real AI, but that's a separate issue.
