You give Shad a lot of credit. His work is extremely amateurish and lacks almost every fundamental you can think of, despite his claims that he understands anatomy and proportion. As someone who's been hired, and been involved in hiring character designers, no studio I've ever worked at would even give him an interview. He is far, far below the level of any working professional I know, and you can see the pattern in his work over the years. He has barely improved since 2004 (you can see the date of his drawing in one of the images he uses)... that's 20 years. This man spent two decades lazily refusing to put in the work to improve his craft. To someone like him who never had an appreciation for art as a craft, or the work it requires to truly improve, generative AI would be immensely appealing. It's acting like a crutch for a lifetime of accumulated artistic insecurity.
