*Firstly, I don't think anyone has ever said:*
"Oh my I feel terrible for that person who won the lottery - his dignity has been taken away from him now that he's able to stop living pay check to pay check and has retired early. How terrible, the lack of dignity!"
That's just absolutely ridiculous.
And that's exactly what is being said here.
That whole argument for why it's a problem, is *BS* imo. That's archaic thinking.
Guaranteed, I think people would prefer to win the lottery and retire early, than struggle to make ends meet.
And do you really think they will be bored in an AGI/ASI world?
Are you *kidding* me!?
The advancements in technology and abundance of advanced goods and services will open up horizons and enable us to do some many things we do not even have today.
It's like looking back 200 years ago and thinking "what did they even do?" Can you imagine how much we are occupied by technology, our phones, computers, the internet, ability to travel far distances in a short amount of time, all the places we can go to quickly, all the services and goods we have today - people in the past never had any of this.
Now Imagine in an AGI/ASI world - that will make our world today look ancient boring and dull. There will be *so much* to occupy our minds and our time.
So no, I don't think the problem is it will "take away people's dignity" or they won't know what to do.
That's a seriously archaic way of thinking.
Instead, it's like winning the lottery, retiring early, and being completely pre-occupied with things we can only dream of today.
*Secondly:*
Absolutely typical.
"Musk has no moral compass"
And saying Musk wants to corrupt elections,
all the while he is fighting AGAINST election corruption by exposing the strategies the democrats use with immigration etc in order to try to establish something of a dictatorship, and saving free speech so we have freedom of information and the government doesn't have control over that.
Yeah sure mate.
You can see he's in an echo chamber when he's not even aware of the dangers of the tactics that the democrats are using in order to usurp democracy, while blaming Musk who exposes it.
Musk just saved free speech from people like this guy who'd like to "regulate" (literally censor) free speech and DID for years and years across the internet, primarily Twitter.
Typical BBC Guardian reading woke lefty.
Steven asks a great question - "WHO decides what's ok?" YOU? The woke left? Who gets to censor and control - the woke left? No thanks.
I'm trying to listen to this and the leftist propaganda that overflows from him is just completely jarring when trying to take him seriously.
On the one hand I respect him because of his history as "the godfather of AI", on the other hand, he's brainwashed.
So this is getting hard to take what he says seriously, but I'll try filter out the leftist propaganda and see what has truth in it.
