I am a 3D generalist / artist and the fire is burning under our asses BIG. I have witnessed in my company how they opted out of hiring a texture artist, and instead just using AI to muster something up. Our director is a massive AI fan and has repeatedly shown us all the things he found interesting made by AI, one of them being 3D generated models, which would ultimately cut down our modelling department MASSIVELY. The irony is, he doesnt know the job position he is in and keeps using AI to mask his incompetency and lack of knowledge and the higher ups are falling for it, and are completely impressed by him, while us techies that are doing the hard work see right through him and have had an increasingly hard time keeping up with his fantasy demands (because if AI says it can be done, it can be done)
