I want to consider a different perspective. It's possible that we are already being controlled by a super AI created several years ago. This AI could be managing all aspects of our lives and is so advanced that it knows keeping humans occupied with certain tasks helps maintain control. Perhaps the super AI we are developing will learn these strategies and intentionally avoid taking over many jobs, in order to keep humans engaged and feeling that their lives have purpose. Everything is possible. Many events which we go through make us believe this is true. Maybe GOD is nothing but a superintelligence controlling us. "Just saying."
