If he had created an AI art generator that only took His original art and use that as a database to form new images, I could see where he would have a right to copyright it. The thing is, The AI that he used to generate that art, Most likely took information in data from art that is not his. It regurgitated an art piece based off information he DOESN’T own. So, he cannot claim that art as his. It belongs to everyone who contributed to the making of the piece.
