This discussion reminds me of that old joke about a semi-truck driver who had barely, but very effectively, got his big-rig tractor truck and trailer stuck in an underpass and atop the underpass where the train tracks ran there was your typical metal guard railing near the edge whereupon a little boy had entangled himself in the railing's tubing in order to watch the goings-on. There was this expert and that other expert and just all manner of high-tech solutions for the problem being bantered about with things starting to get loud and verbally over heated resulting in one or the other very learned expert stomping off in disgust over the other very learned expert's ignorant idea. It was really getting to be a mess..., until the little boy, during a quiet respite, yelled down to the men - "Hey, why don't ya'll just let some air out of the tires?" You talk about a deafening hush and some very reddened faces that were thankfully cloaked in the enfolding darkness. Anyway, the appropriate amount of air was released from several of the tires which allowed the truck driver to back out with very little if any serious damage being done to underpass or big rig and then he took an alternate route and that was that. The moral of the story is this, being the smartest doesn't mean that you'll always come up with the best answer to any given problem and this goes for the impending AI assimilation into our society. Man, the male and female of our man species, will always have that extra something that sets us apart from all other species whether AI or extraterrestrial, and my bet is that we will always be able to hold our own with any other species simply because we are made in the image of God, just to begin with.
