They clearly don't understand how ChatGPT works. If you tell it to write something for you, it will invent it. It's not even hallucination, it was requested to write something, so it did. To have chance for it to be true, you need to ask about in a way that makes it clear, that you are asking for real information, and not just for help in creating something new. Most use right now is in creating fiction, scripts, comments. Searching, maybe, if you want to get general information and know where to look, but do proper research in real world later.
But even then, they just have thrown their judgement and knowledge out of the window, just because they thought the magic box gave them a magic answer to solve their case.
