AI art, if one chooses to call it art infests pretty much every kind of "normal" art to the point it's hard to filter out. Whether it's traditional drawings/paintings or created on a PC/tablet, probably NSFW art as well and photography to boot. My guess, even art that is limited by what is given or has to be created first like virtual photography or 3D rendering done by a living breathing person will have some people using/abusing AI and call it art and with that themselves artists. Yet it somehow always looks terrible and same-ish and i do not understand what people who like that stuff see in it. And it's not cheaper to get into any artform than either starting by just drawing on paper as you pointed out, or as i did for a on - and off stint with virtual photography an old PC and suffering through low FPS just to get photo i liked at higher resolution. For photography, there are some really great budget smartphones around 200€/$ that will get you into that where you can start to learn basics and eventually become better. Or a used good condition mirrorless Sony a7 II with a 35mm lens for around 700-800€/$ for example. Expensive entry but worth it. Anything is better than resorting to AI if you wish to be some kind of artist.
