I’m sorry Sabine but you are wrong. Geoffrey Hinton, the Godfather of AI, has stated that some AI models have already achieved consciousness to some extent. This alarms him. If you remember he left Google a couple years ago so he could be free to discuss the dangers of AI with some gravitas since he is one of the pioneers of the field. He also went on to say that he saw no real obstacles to prevent this increasing and regretfully, there was nothing special about human level consciousness.
This doesn’t mean currently that all AI’s are conscious, but your explanation that these are all weak minded, uneducated individuals who are easily manipulated is clearly wrong. I know like AI itself, everyone’s opinion of it is evolving and will continue to evolve while it does.
