It's spooky that you could get a missile in the air and let it sit around for a while until it has a target, but to be honest, it's such an inefficient weapon compared to already conventional missiles with a lower cost, higher payload and much greater speed, making it harder to intercept than the missile drones with also a larger silhouette.
In comparison to AI assisted targeting on fighters, fighters have a much more significant combat efficiency making targeting more accurate and spotting quicker, so you could just launch missiles in about the same if not longer range due to being able to invest in higher quality cameras and targeting systems than disposable ones of the drones.
I can see where the drones can be used, if used in swarms and making them do a suicide run, but even then, air superiority and ground support is already so efficient that it would just cost so much more money for a one time use weapon as opposed to having fighters and bombers rearm in a second or even continuous runs in a far longer range including the already in use MQ-1 predator UAVs.
The swarm of small drones I can see how they could be useful in a lot of roles, even for minor targeted bombing like for human targets or vehicles and parts of infrastructure like pipes, electric grid points and maybe even larger buildings with a larger swarm. Other than that, I find they're excellent for real time intelligence overhead, especially since they're so small and nimble, making them hard to spot and shoot and are far more cheaper to replace than some other aerial spotting equipment.
The technology is pretty scary, especially when you can imagine them being able to be hacked or they don't work as intended for what ever reason and causing unwanted damage, but I personally see pretty great potential in aiding soldiers and making their lives much more safer to be able to come home at the cost of some thousands of dollars of material in place of millions that went into training and caring for soldiers willing to fight.
