I disagree that pedestrians should alter their behaviour to accommodate autonomous vehicles. In many countries it is pedestrians who have the right of way, not vehicles. The vehicles must be fitted with detection systems which can detect obstacles, including people under all reasonable condions. This includes darkness, rain etc. If they cannot do this they cannot be accepted as autonomous and allowed to drive themselves.
