As a white guy in IT who tries to be non-racist & anti-racist, this does not surprise me at all. Since AI comes from the tech industry where I rarely encounter a black face, the way we train AI is going to be based on our perspectives and copy all of our conscious and unconscious biases.
We need more diversity in tech & IT, so if you are black and have the stamina to push your way into the industry and hold your ground there, then I ask and encourage you to do so.
