I'm not really bothered by AI one way or another, and not even in the "it's just a tool" kind of way.
To me, art was always just a way to communicate with the artist, their way of putting a piece of themselves on the canvas, and allowing us to see something regular interactions would never show. The aesthetics and visual aspect of the art was always secondary to what they reveal about the artist.
AI tools may be useful if you're only after the images, but that was never what I sought in art. Without a purposeful intent and character behind the art, whatever these AI models conjure up is just not interesting to me.
I know artists working through illustration commissions have their livelihood threatened by AI as customer mostly only care about having the picture, but at least know that to people like me traditional artists are untouchable by AI.
