I don't think European cities will bend the knee in order to please American cars. So, I'm not worried.
However, while I do support the development of self-driving cars but it will never ever change the efficiency of public transit. Paris and London are two packed cities where commuting is a drag. They have great public transit, so it will be a nightmare to remove their subways to replace them by cars.
